Admission Policy

Admission to Golden Jubilee School will be as per the rights and norms for Minority institutions. Golden Jubilee Education Society has been declared a linguistic (Hindi) minority trust and all educational institutes run by it, including Golden Jubilee School, are exempted from the purview of Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 and Rules thereunder.

Jubilee Kids (Nursery)

The main intake of children in the school is in the nursery class, which is called ‘Jubilee Kids’. After completing the Nursery course children of Jubilee Kids have to take fresh admission to LKG of Golden Jubilee School. Once admitted to LKG, children usually continue till class 10. Thus, admission in higher classes is dependent on vacancies that arise due to withdrawal of children for some reason. The other intake is usually in class 11. Children who meet the eligibility conditions are offered admissions based on the school’s policy on admission. Part of the admission process is done online. Parents are expected to register the kids for admission, online on the date(s) fixed by the school. The dates shall be announced through advertisement in the local newspapers and on the school website.

When to Apply:

Children are admitted usually towards the end of February or beginning of March of the calendar year for the next academic session starting in April of the same calendar year. The exact date of registration for admission is published in the newspapers and can be seen on the school website.

Who can Apply:

Admission is open to children who are between 3 years and 4 years as on the 31st December of the academic year.

How to Apply:

Children are to be registered by filling up the registration form online. The registration fee is to be transferred to the school account by ECS (NEFT, Credit card / debit card or net banking) and proof of payemt of the same be obtained. Please see under Fees for the details of bank account in which the payment has to be made. The documents mentioned at the end of this page are to be submitted to the school within the time period mentioned in the admission notification, along with the proof of having paid the registration fee to complete the registration process. A copy of the registration form will be printed out by the school which has to be signed by one of the parents while submitting the documents. If the form is incomplete or the information provided is incorrect, the child may not be considered for admission.

The registration code should be indicated on the documents submitted and while corresponding with the school regarding admission of the child.

Registration does not guarantee admission. Further, registration done for one year cannot be carried forward for the next year. Principal’s decision in the matter of admission is final and is not open for discussion.

Fees

Tuition fee: Rs. 4893/month to be paid quarterly. The fee for the first quarter is to be paid at the time of admission and that of subsequent quarters at the beginning of each quarter by online transaction into the school account.

Fees paid will not be refunded. Fees will be accepted only through Electronic Clearance Service of the Banks as per CBSE guidelines.

Kindergarten (LKG & UKG)

Usually after admitting the children of Jubilee Kids, vacancy does not exist.

Who can apply:

Only children between the ages of 4 years and 5 years as on 31 December of the year of admission will be considered for admission to LKG.

When to apply:

Date of payment of fees for new students is 7 days from the date of issue of admission letter after which admission will stand cancel.

Admission in LKG upwards depends upon the number of withdrawals from school.

Classes 1 to 10

Who can apply:

Children applying for admission to class 1 to 10 should be qualified as per the CBSE guidelines. The child should have been promoted to the class for which admission is sought and meet the age criteria. Children seeking admission to class 9 and 10 have to strictly meet the conditions laid down by CBSE.

When to apply:

Registration will be open in the month of February or March of the applicable calendar year for the academic year beginning in April of the same calendar year. The dates are indicated in the advertisement in the local newspapers and on the school website.

Principal/Vice Principal/Headmistress would also be meeting the parents on the occasion. If the child is found to be suitable and if there is a vacancy the Principal may offer admission to the child according to the school’s policy. Parents will be intimated if the child is selected.

Once informed about the selection, parents are to take admission without delay by paying the fees as per the details given below. Admission is to be completed by the deadline given to the parent by the school office, failing which admission may be given to the next child in the list.

FEES

Class 11

The school offers admission to children in both commerce and science streams in class 11. However, if the number of children who have qualified for admission in any stream is small the school may decide to cancel the course and any fee other than the registration fee will be refunded.

In the Commerce stream the following subjects are offered: English, Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, Mathematics/Psychology.

In the Science stream the following subjects are offered: English, Mathematics/Psychology, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Computer Science

Who can Apply:

Any student who has passed or is awaiting the result of class 10 examination conducted by a Board for secondary education, recognized by CBSE, the result of which is expected by mid-June of the Academic year, can apply for admission. Students may register and take provisional admission in case their results are not declared, but confirmation of their admission is subject to fulfilling all the conditions of admission.

When to Apply:

Admission to class 11 will be open shortly after the CBSE results for the relevant academic year are declared. A notification on opening of admission will be published in the newspaper and put up on the website and school notice board.

How to apply:

Application is to be submitted online. If the form is incomplete or the information provided is incorrect, the child may not be considered for admission. Within 2 days after online registration the following documents are to be submitted to the school along with the registration fee: photocopy of the birth certificate, medical certificate, caste certificate, handicap certificate (if applicable), transfer certificate, the original mark sheet (May be submitted at the time of admission if not received by the time of registration). Failure to submit the documents or to make payment of Registration fee may entail invalidation of the application. While submitting the documents, a copy of the registration form will be printed out by the school, which has to be signed by the parents. Also a separate form needs to be filled in indicating the subjects that the child would take in class 11.

Pass certificate issued by a recognised Board of Secondary Education should be submitted by December of the year of admission. In the case of children joining school from board other than CBSE, migration certificate is to be submitted latest by the first week of October of the year of joining.

1. Birth certificate in original issued by the Registrar of Births and Deaths with a photocopy of the same. The original will be returned after verification.

2. Residence Proof (Ration card, latest Telephone bill, Electricity bill or copy of Bank passbook with address)

3. A passport size photograph taken recently.

4. Medical certificate indicating health status, allergy and precautions to be taken by the school and risk factors in the case of the child. (Download format)

5. Caste certificate indicating the caste and caste category.

6. Handicap certificate from competent authority indicating the degree of disability as per the government norms if the applicant is handicapped.

7. Latest Report card of the sibling studying in GJS, if applicable.

8. Transfer certificate of the child counter-signed by the concerned education officer/authority if the child is seeking admission in class 2 or a higher class.

9. Migration certificate in the case of students who join class 11 from Education boards other than CBSE.

10. Pass certificate and marks/grade statement issued by the school (or a recognised Board of Secondary Education in the case of admission to class 11).

11. Photocopy of adhaar card. Adhaar card is must for admission to classes LKG and above. Also the names in the admission form should tally with that in the adhaar card.

$ Catering charge is applicable only for 10 months for classes 10 to 12.

Catering and books and stationery charges are tentative and may be increased if the expenditure increases.

Payment of Fees

At the time of admission the following fees are to be paid by way of electronic transfer to the school account in HDFC Bank : Admission fee, tuition fee for the first quarter, all the applicable yearly fees, term fee for the first term if applicable, books and stationery charges and catering charges for the first quarter (if applicable). Subsequently, the tuition fee and catering charges are to be paid at the beginning of each quarter on the dates specified by the school by way of electronic transfer to the school account in HDFC Bank as directed by the school. The term fee for the second term is to be paid along with the tuition fee for the third quarter.

The fees for the existing students are to be paid by way of electronic transfer to the school account in HDFC Bank on the dates specified by the school and as directed by the school in four quarters. All the yearly fees, tuition fee for the first quarter, 1st term fee, books and stationery charges and catering charges for the first quarter shall be paid at the beginning of the academic year and subsequently at the beginning of each quarter, the tuition fee and catering charge for the quarter are to be paid. The term fee for the second term is to be paid along with the tuition fee for the third quarter.

Fees for subsequent quarters may be paid in advance.

Fees indicated are the current fees. They are subject to change with effect from 1st April of every calendar year. Should there be an increase in the fees at any time during the academic year the difference amount between the fees paid thus far in the academic year and revised fees as applicable from April 1st of the academic year in question would have to be paid along with the next installment of fees.

Penalty for late fee

The school will be charging a late fee of Rs 50 per day for the first 10 days after the due date of the fee, after which the late fee will be further increased to Rs 100 per day till the end of the quarter. Should the fee still remain unpaid, the student will not be allowed to attend classes.
